On Sunday 2nd February 59 Hayle Runners made the trip up the coast to participate in the Newquay 10k. This is the second race in the Cornish GP series and another firm favourite of the club. The undulating course takes runners from the town and out towards Crantock, before turning back for one last hill near the finish at the Sports Centre. Conditions on the day were good, overcast and chilly but dry, and there was some great support out on the route.
The women’s team put in a particularly strong performance, bringing home third place. A huge well done to Kirsty Medlock, Melissa Nicholas, Fiona Gamble, Lee Strickland, Tear Rogers, and Corinne Gerrard.
In addition, several members scooped age category prizes. Those were:
