There’s no denying that tackling the Truro Trail 10k is one for the tenacious race lovers as this course has somewhat challenging terrain.
Yet there’s little chance that put off our 16 Hayle Runners, who took on this year’s event on Wednesday evening.
Organised by Truro Running Club, the course is a mixture of road, trail, track, hills and muddy sections in this instalment of the Multi-Terrain Running Series.
Formerly known as Meet Your Max, it was race 11 of 11 bringing the season to a close. This year’s race saw the final kilometre of the route tweaked a little in comparison to 2024.
Congratulations go out to Hayle men’s team for taking second place overall. Liam O’Neill, Neil Hayhurst, Kieran Murrant and Jon Eldon making up the dream team.
Well done also goes out to the Hayle Runners’ ladies’ team, which consisted of Fiona Gamble, Florence Davies-Kirsop, Louise Ollivier and Kelly Bills, placing fifth overall.
Not content with placing fifth in the ladies’ team, Fiona Gamble came in second in her 40-44 age category. Matched by Neil Hayhurst placing second in the men’s 40-44 category.
Liam O’Neill notched up a fifth place result in the men’s 35-39 category, but of course it was Hayle Runners’ 60-64 category supremo Jon Eldon who ran to first place a good six minutes ahead of the man behind him!
If you head over to the Truro Running Club Facebook page you’ll be able to see a round-up of this year’s contenders taking part with several batches of photos.
