Another double whammy for Hayle Runners at Truro

On Sunday 15th of September, 32 members of the Green Army made the trip to Truro to take on the Truro Half Marathon.

The notoriously hilly course starts with a loop of central Truro, before heading out to Porth Kea, Playing Place, and Cowlands, and then back into town – with the small matter of over 1200ft of elevation along the way. A well-supported route and dry weather helped give participants the push to get round.

The women’s and men’s teams put in fantastic performances, with both taking first place! Debbie Harrison-Webb, Fiona Gamble, Anna Goodman, Corinne Gerrard, Andrea Simmons, and Zoe Renowden made up the first-place women’s team; while Liam O’Neill, Steven Hagan, Dominic Turton, Mark Williams, Ian Curnow, and Scott Abraham took first place for the men. Phenomenal efforts all round.

Along with fantastic team performances, Hayle runners also scooped a selection of individual age category prizes including:

“Fresh from our double whammy at Treggy, our runners performed superbly again at Truro today, coming back with another pair of 1st placed teams. The weather was perfect and the support was loud and enthusiastic. We even came back with several photos of smiling runners who seemed to enjoy the experience.”
