A small but perfectly-formed band of four Hayle Runners headed to Bude on the 8th September to take on the Bude Pirate Run, which is event number 3 in the MTRS series. The race starts and ends on Maer Down and is an 8-mile trail route taking in spectacular coastal scenery and lots of hills. Piratical fancy dress is encouraged.
Our intrepid crew did brilliant work in less-than-ideal weather. They even brought home a couple of age category prizes, with Liam O’Neill coming in first in the 35-39 category and Jon Eldon taking first place in the 60-64s!
