Hayle Runners have had a very busy weekend!
17 runners took part in the Tywarnhale 10K, which starts from Mount Hawke cricket club and takes in some coast path around Chapel Porth and back towards Porthtowan, before a loop around Tywarnhayle mine. The route is no mean feat anyway, but the unexpectedly hot day added an extra challenge, and everybody who completed it did brilliantly!
There were a few age category prizes:
- Neil Hayhurst – 2nd – Men 40-44
- Kevin Silver – 3rd – Men 55-59
- Jon Eldon – 1st – Men 60-64
A huge well done to everybody who took part!
And in addition to those completing Tywarnhale…
Chunky Penhaul and Paul Allan both travelled to the US to take part in the Chicago marathon – Chunky completed the race in 4:35:15, and Paul did it in 3:36:20
Andrea Simmons was running in the England vest at the age group masters in the Chester marathon. Andrea completed the race in 3:53 and won gold!
Kelly Bills and Marlene Fitzroy Grobler completed the Atlantic Coast Challenge which is 3 coast path marathons in 3 days. The challenge started at Trevose Head and finished at Lands End.
Nicola Masters travelled to London and took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon and Oisín Curtis sweltered through the Bournemouth Half Marathon.
