Some brave Hayle runners took on the St Piran’s Revenge trail race around Perranporth yesterday! The worst of the rain had luckily cleared up but there were still some wild conditions around to make an already… interesting race even more interesting.
A new addition to the calendar in 2022, this year the course was slightly changed to add more dunes and bring the total ascent to over 1000 feet. Lucky runners! Over the 10K (ish) route they also covered beach and coastal path making this a very challenging multi-terrain race.
Everybody who took part did phenomenally well to get to the end, but there were also a couple of age category prizes, so a special congratulations to:
- Andrea Simmons – 2nd – Women 60-69
- Chunky Penhaul – 1st – Men 74-79
A huge well done again to everybody who took part, and thanks to Perran Trail Runners for putting on one hell of a race.
